The ancient art of Yoga is deep-rooted in the culture of every Indian and the celebration of the 7th International Yoga Day was a great event in DAV Model/Public Schools, West Bengal Zone hosted by DAV Model School, Durgapur. Taking on to the virtual platform the students, their parents, teachers & the staff participated in a plethora of activities. The celebration flagged off with the Inter DAV Yoga performance contest among the 80 students from all the DAV Schools in West Bengal Zone on17.06.2021. A Pranayam Session was organized for parents on 20.06.2021 by our yoga teacher Sharmistha Chatterjee.
On the eve of the International Yoga Day, i.e., on 20.06.2021, Ms. Ritu Vohra, nationally acclaimed Yoga therapist was invited to conduct a webinar for more than 70 Physical Education teachers, and she enriched all participants with her profound insight into the art of yoga.On 21.06.2021, a mass yoga display, performed by individual students from their own houses connected through a virtual platform was a mesmerizing session involving students from classes III to VIII. This activity was performed in sync with AYUSH protocol.
On the same day an Inter school Quizasana: A Yoga Quiz for students of classes IX -XII was held with the aim of spreading awareness and instilling the love for yoga.
