Annual Zonal Cultural Fiesta 2016

DAV Model School organized the final phase of Cultural Fiesta 2016, the Annual Cultural meet of all DAV Model / Public Schools of West Bengal Zone. In this mega event 600 participants from 15 different DAV schools took part. The inaugural ceremony was graced by Prof. A. Gangopadhyay, Dean, Faculty Welfare, NIT, Durgapur and Prof. Madhumita Jajodia, Principal, Durgapur Women’s College, Principals of DAV Schools and LMC Members. The competition included Ved Mantra, Solo Classical Song, Solo Classical Dance, Solo Instrumental, Contemporary Dance, Group song and English Band Performance and were adjudged by 10 renowned judges of National and International repute. This mega event of Youth Festival was flagged off on 13 August in DAV Public School, Asansol where literary activities were organized followed by Art and Craft fest in DAV Public School, Raniganj on 20 August. Prof. Gangopadhayay  appreciated the endeavor of DAV Schools in their pursuit of  inculcating cultural awareness  through such events. Ms. Papiya Mukherjee, Principal Cum Asstt. Regional Director, DAV Public/Model Schools emphasized on the role of these cultural events to make the society a better place where the ‘citizens of tomorrow’ can grow with values and ethics. DAV Model School bagged the Champions Trophy  with  4 Winner and 2 Runner Up positions  followed by DAV Public School, Asansol with 1 Winner and 3 Runner ups.
